»0730331879« shows the self-portrait of a digital camera sensor.
It originates from a series of experiments with so-called »hot pixels«. These are disturbances in the material of the camera sensor that produce an increased sensitivity to incident light. The image »730331879« is the result of a long exposure with the lens cap on. The view of the outside world was blocked and directed into the interior of the camera itself. The resulting image is almost completely black. Only the »hot pixels« of the sensor become visible, forming galaxy-like structures, seemingly random compositions of red, green, blue and white squares.
